Editorial Policy

How Komodo Travellers researches, writes, edits and corrects its content.

Editorial Ownership

Komodo Travellers is created and edited by Bima Laksana, who is responsible for the content published on this site. It is a privately owned publication, not a government resource, tour operator or booking platform.

How We Research Wildlife Content

Claims about Komodo dragon biology, behavior and conservation status are checked against established sources, including the IUCN Red List, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, and peer-reviewed research on Varanus komodoensis. We avoid low-quality or unverified sources for wildlife claims and prefer sources that support the specific claim being made rather than general background reading. See Sources and Methodology for detail.

How We Handle Practical Travel Information

Fees, schedules, access rules and operating conditions change. We do not present specific prices, fees or schedules as fixed facts. Where this kind of information would normally appear, we instead point readers toward confirming current details with the relevant official provider or tour operator before travel.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not fabricate statistics, prices, schedules or population figures.
  • We do not publish fake testimonials, reviews or awards.
  • We do not claim firsthand experience, credentials or field research that has not actually taken place.
  • We do not guarantee wildlife sightings of any kind.
  • We do not use sensationalized language to describe natural animal behavior.

Authorship and Bylines

Substantial guides and articles carry a byline crediting Bima Laksana as founder, editor and author, linking to the author page. This site does not publish content under fabricated staff names or an anonymous editorial team.

Commercial Disclosure

If Komodo Travellers ever enters into a commercial relationship that could reasonably influence a recommendation on this site — such as a sponsored placement or an affiliate arrangement — that relationship will be disclosed clearly on the relevant page, near the content it relates to, rather than buried in a general policy statement alone.
